Innovación en Educación

En esta charla de TED, Charles Leadbeater enumera varios ejemplos de innovación en educación en lugares donde la educación tradicional no existe, o si existe, no sirve. Las necesidades son distintas y eso dispera la generación de ideas innovadoras que desafían los modelos educativos tradicionales actuales heredados desde hace siglos.
Charles plantea un cambio de paradigma cuando dice que la educación ya no es más PUSH sino PULL. Se necesita una nueva y radical forma de pensar y cita varios ejemplos de villas miserias en Brasil, India, China junto con ejemplos de educación en zonas rurales. Explica como la tecnología y nuevos enfoques de aprendizaje ayudan a los chicos a captar mejor el mensaje y no aburrirse antes de tiempo y abandonar sus estudios. Hace falta desarrollar entornos de aprendizaje altamente colaborativos, muy personalizados, donde se aprende de preguntas, problemas, proyectos y no simplemente de teoría.

Charles plantea una matriz donde se ve con mucha claridad la disrupción que estamos viviendo y la necesidad de reinventar los modelos educativos formales a partir de aprender de ejemplos de ámbitos no formales. Estas experiencias están transformando y generando nuevos modelos educativos, nuevas prácticas adaptadas a las necesidades de los países en desarrollo.

I think that the availability of these very inexpensive platforms you’re creating, in disseminating content, means that it’s become intensely competitive

Internet business model - Advertising.

Herb Simon recognized this many years ago. He said, “A wealth of information creates a poverty of attention.” So being able to capture someone’s attention at the right time is a very valuable asset.

* How technology empowers knowledge workers

You always have this problem of being surrounded by “yes men” and people who want to predigest everything for you. In the old organization, you had to have this whole army of people digesting information to be able to feed it to the decision maker at the top. But that’s not the way it works anymore: the information can be available across the ranks, to everyone in the organization. And what you need to ensure is that people have access to the data they need to make their day-to-day decisions. And this can be done much more easily than it could be done in the past. And it really empowers the knowledge workers to work more effectively.
